                                                                                  Small-space decorating can be a challenge !

A color palette that’s light and neutral will expand your space visually but ever wonder why advertisers use 6-foot images in bus shelters or billboard-sized ads in subway stations ? Part of the reason is that scaling up in a small space can be really effective. The same thing works at home, as you can see where a huge image of a woman gives an entryway a distinct personality. Large art is the defining element of that small space, tying together a color scheme and creating a single focal point that anchors the other items in the room. The tip: When choosing large art for a room, you must love it ;) I highly recommend a piece which is ‘‘Love at First Sight’’ !

But what about the furniture ? Do you want furniture pieces to fit just right in your small space? The key to comfortable living is developing a space-efficient plan and choose furniture that doesn't block your view from one area to another. Furniture that is lower to the ground create a feeling of openness in a room simply by the fact that they leave more space above them, contrary to furniture that is streamlined and seem to allows light and air to flow not just over but also under and around it, so that it appears to float in space. My point of view ? Why not both !

..Well the same goes for color as I already have mentioned at the opening line of the article ! A combination splash of three colors and its tones provides interest to your space and also gives visual balance.

Did you know ? ..Whether or not we realize it, the materials within our physical environments have their own different languages, which speak to our emotions on a subconscious level. Different materials and textures expand your decorating options since the use of any material has an important position in the emotional design of space. A piece of furniture cause people’s emotional resonance. Wood has been shown to help people relaxing. That’s because wood is associated with the natural environment, and elicits positive, relaxed, peaceful and inviting vibes. On the other end, glass and metal convey strength, independence, and dynamism.

So .. can you read between the lines ? I bet the space is designed for an independent urban personality with casual-elegant looking and overall sense of harmony.. Don’t you agree ?
